What's the 10,000gp minimum for Death's Coffer?

Items must be individually worth 10,000 coins or more by Grand Exchange price to be sacrificed. Cheaper items aren't eligible at all, regardless of how many you have. There's no upper limit in the real mechanic — see the next question for the (unrelated) cap this site applies to its own dataset.

Are any items excluded from Death's Coffer?

Yes — untradeable items, tradeables without a Grand Exchange listing, Old School Bonds, Leagues and Grid Master reward items, and recently released items still stabilising in price are all excluded, even above the 10,000gp floor. This site also caps its leaderboard at 2bn gp — not a real in-game limit, but a data-quality one, since a handful of ultra-rare items trade at OSRS's saturated max-cash price ceiling rather than a real discovered price.

Death's Coffer pays a flat 105% of GE price for any tradeable item worth 10,000gp or more — no upper limit in the real mechanic. Margin % (the default sort, shown right after each item) is the 105% coffer credit measured against RuneLite price (the 24-hour volume-weighted average — the same wiki number RuneLite's own price overlays are built from), as a percentage of that price. Margin = Bonus + Difference, where Difference = GE price − RuneLite price — the Difference is what determines the Margin, since Credit is always ~GE price × 1.05. The RuneLite vs Coffer column is that same Margin in raw gp, right next to Margin %. Bonus = (GE price × 1.05) − GE price is a simpler, always-~5% comparison against GE price alone, and Limit × Bonus is Bonus multiplied by the item's Grand Exchange buy limit — the total gp a full buy-limit's worth of sacrifices would earn you in one 4-hour window ("—" when the wiki doesn't report a limit for that item, or when there's no 24-hour trade data to compute a RuneLite price/Margin from). How this works

OSRS Coffer crawls the OSRS Wiki's real-time price API on our own schedule — a couple of bulk requests every 15 minutes — and keeps a local database of every tradeable item on the Grand Exchange worth 10,000gp or more (Death's Coffer's real floor, with no upper limit — we only additionally exclude a handful of items above our own 2bn gp data-quality ceiling, see the FAQ), sorted by Margin % by default. Nothing here ever calls the wiki from your browser: the site reads a small generated snapshot, so pages load instantly and never rate-limit.

GE price (the midpoint of the wiki's live instant-buy/instant-sell) is our best estimate of the in-game Grand Exchange price Death's Coffer actually credits 105% of — Buy cost is the live instant-buy side of that same feed, i.e. what it'd cost to acquire the item right this second. These aren't always the same number, and no third-party price tracker's "realtime" feed — this one included — is guaranteed to match exactly what Jagex's own servers are showing you in-game at any given instant. Treat Margin % as a close, fast-moving estimate, and sanity-check the item's price in-game before committing a large sacrifice.

What is Death's Coffer?

Death's Coffer is a sacrifice chest in Death's Office. You can feed it any tradeable item worth 10,000 coins or more (by Grand Exchange price) and it credits your coffer with 105% of that item's GE price — a flat 5% bonus. That credit can only be spent later on death item-recovery fees or private boss instances; it can't be withdrawn as coins.

How is "Bonus" calculated?

Bonus = (GE price × 1.05) − GE price — the extra gp a sacrifice earns you over the item's own Grand Exchange price. Because it's a flat 5%, the items with the biggest bonus are simply the highest-value eligible items — Bonus isn't its own column any more (its gp value only matters combined with Difference, in the RuneLite vs Coffer column next to Margin %), but Limit × Bonus (Bonus multiplied by the item's GE buy limit) is still there, showing the total gp a full buy limit's worth of sacrifices would earn in one 4-hour window.

What is "RuneLite price"?

The 24-hour volume-weighted average price from the OSRS Wiki's real-time API — the same number RuneLite's own price overlays are built from, which is why we've labelled it that. It's a smoothed reference distinct from GE price (the live instant-buy/instant-sell midpoint used everywhere else on this page); Difference is GE price minus RuneLite price, showing how far today's live price has moved from that 24-hour average — and Difference is what drives Margin (see the previous question). Shows "—" for an item with no trades in the last 24 hours.

Why might this differ from another Death's Coffer calculator, or my own in-game check?

Death's Coffer credits 105% of the item's official in-game Grand Exchange price, but no third-party site — including this one — has direct access to that number. We estimate it from the OSRS Wiki's real-time price API; other trackers use their own feeds, which can be sourced or updated slightly differently, so small disagreements between sites are normal.
